A Quick Card Tonight and a Freebie

Image
I made a small batch of birthday cards tonight for the church card ministry that I run. I particularly liked this one - it is Asian, red, and simple, and I was able to use origami paper.                     This is an A6-sized card. I trimmed 2" from the 6" square piece of Oragami paper  and used it to line the envelope.  This is the first time I think  that I have done this. I love it. The Oragami paper was purchased on Amazon for a very good price.  Great for Sunday school crafts too! The Sentiment: Birthday Blessings.  I create sentiments in other languages using Google Translate and designing them in  Publisher . This is a lot of fun!!!! Your freebie for today I hope you have a great day, Ginny M

Journaling Psalm 62:5,6 and Freebie Digital Stamp for you.

Image
Today's Bible journaling is on Psalm 62:5,6.  I've had these verses written on a piece of paper for a few days, working on memorizing the passage. It is a great comfort in times of stress; it brings to mind that the Lord is my fortress and my rock, He is the Alpha and Omega, and the Righteous King.                             Visually interpreting the Word of God is something I take seriously and enjoy very much, and I want my art, or my use of other art, to always honor Him. Finding or creating an image can be challenging. I am not skilled at drawing or lettering, which is why I started rubber stamping in the first place! I'll show you the page, and if you're interested in the process and freebie, keep reading.   This is my Crossway ESV Journaling Bible  I have a few that I am currently working through. This is my first specific journaling bible. I started this one in 2017. It is a smaller s...

This Week's Dexi Cards, Free Digital Framed Scriptures for Your Crafts.

Image
Two weeks ago, I started making Dexi scripture journaling cards.  I've had the Rolodex for a few years to make and trade these cards.  They are so fun!  I keep a very small 3"x3" basket on my desk with bits of pretty paper and lace leftover from card-making or Bible journaling.  I have hundreds of digitized verses from   Word Art Wednesday  created by digital artist Karen Murphy.  I love adding a frame to these verses for gifts,  cards, and now these Dexis.  The only process involved is really cutting and gluing : One more way I can hide the word in my heart and, hopefully, share it with others!! Now my gift to you!  To save these, if you are new to the digital world, Right-click on the image and save it to a file on your computer or download it to your phone.  I hope you enjoy using these in your worshipful art! Have a great day Ginny M. Aslo sharing these with Word Art Wednesday

Journaling the names of Jesus, The Bread Of Life 3/14/25

Image
Hello everyone, today's page is from John 6:35. Jesus said, " I am the Bread of Life. Whoever comes to me, shall never be hungry again. " The simple loaf of bread, a shared crust, the humble bite. Jesus tells us that the wheat may fail, but he never will! He is all we need, and by Him, we will spend eternity in Glory. I am using  a digital by Leibshen Blom  a piece of scrapbook paper, colored pencil, pen, and Lineco glue. In the future pages, I will show you how I use these digitals.  I have been told  that using a digital is "cheating." I don't know how it is cheating? I used to complain that I didn't have the gift for drawing or painting and had a strong desire to express myself through this art form. Why wouldn't the Lord bless me with it? His "No" to that prayer became a great blessing to me, because his "yes" was a learning experience that I am still stretching myself in.  What I did learn over the years was how to use digi...

Spa Treatment for Some Golden Oldie Wood Mount Rubber Stamps -first published 3/17/25

I've been rubber-stamping and card-making for a long time. I started in 1976, my sophomore year of high school, thanks to a wonderful, gifted art teacher. Finding rubber stamps back then was extremely difficult. I did learn how to make my own by cutting rubber blocks and erasers. The process was fun, although tedious, and occasionally bloody if you slipped with the knife you were carving with.  In the 80's, Rubber Stamp Madness magazine came out, and basement stamp companies were born.  By the early 90's, there was an explosion of rubber stamp companies, books, magazines, and MLM companies. By 1992, I was single, and my kids (5 and 9) were old enough that I could invest lots of time ( after they went to bed) in this art, I enjoyed the beautiful stamps and papers and began designing for companies and searching for images to help them grow.  When the digital world mingled with card making, I was there too and loved it. I still do, all of it!   While the cle...

Proverbs 16:9, The Lord Will Direct Our Steps and a Digital Gift.

Image
My dear friend Tonya posted Pr. 16:9 on her social media last night. After reading, I thought about all the plans 19-year-old Ginny had made for her life.  I also thought about how the Lord rewrote those plans, turned my life into one lived for Him, and how it has brought me so much joy and peace.  When I come across a verse that moves me, I like to highlight it as a Bible journaling entry, a Dexi card, or both.  This is my way of treasuring and celebrating the word of God and its rooting in my heart.  My entry for 5/19/26. If you are interested in the process, keep reading! The Dexi The process: In  Publisher, I created my Digi Stamp. Feel free to use these if you like them.  That gold frame is really fun to use with images as well as verses. Added a gold frame Next, I pulled from my fabric stash a "charm" pack of fabric and simply glued it on the paper in my interleaved bible.  Played around with a lace bit, and Voila, the page was done.  ...

Journaling the Names of Jesus

Image
I am in the Old Testament today, from Isaiah 11:1, a title and beautiful messianic prophecy of Jesus the One who fulfills all prophecy. I have a couple of process tips that might be helpful when creating digitally. First, the page: For this page, I used my huge Illustrating Bible This is one of my favorites. I hope they release a KJV version. The paper used is a wonderfully smooth, slightly warm white. It takes paint and markers beautifully, and glue never makes it rumple. For today's page, I used Reflections Dove White to print my Leibschen Blom digital on 65#, almost a perfect match color-wise and close weight-wise.   A little hard to tell from this shadowy photo. This digital came in a European A4 size, just a little larger than the US standard letter size of 8×11.  To compensate  for the size difference, when you are ready to print, you can go into your printer preferences  In the page box click A4, and then in the next box click on letter size. Your comput...
