Journaling Psalm 62:5,6 and Freebie Digital Stamp for you.

Today's Bible journaling is on Psalm 62:5,6.  I've had these verses written on a piece of paper for a few days, working on memorizing the passage. It is a great comfort in times of stress; it brings to mind that the Lord is my fortress and my rock, He is the Alpha and Omega, and the Righteous King.

Visually interpreting the Word of God is something I take seriously and enjoy very much, and I want my art, or my use of other art, to always honor Him. Finding or creating an image can be challenging. I am not skilled at drawing or lettering, which is why I started rubber stamping in the first place!

I'll show you the page, and if you're interested in the process and freebie, keep reading.

This is my Crossway ESV Journaling Bible
I have a few that I am currently working through. This is my first specific journaling bible. I started this one in 2017. It is a smaller size; the page is only 8" high.  Because it is small, I haven't used it very much.  I wasn't sure about enlarging this image and felt the smaller size would be better.

My first image choice was a vintage Tin Can Mail stamp

It wasn't the best image for it, but I liked the Arch
The first image I inked up and printed looked terrible. I tried again and got the same result. So I turned the stamp over and found the problem: The rubber was damaged. It looks like it is melted.  I have no Idea how that happened - I have had the stamp probably 15 years.

I went into my digital stamp storage files under Castles and found one I really liked.
A word here on Digitals:  This one came from a Dover Publications book, one of many, a series of images.  I probably have 50 of these books, each of which contains usually 250+ images.  They are all on CD's and have all the graphic file types.  These are all art images in the Public Domain category - copyright-free. I purchased these between 1998 and 2008, and they are a treasure to me!

On the right of this picture is the original "stamp", on the left is the stamp I cropped to fit my bible and verse.  The verse is in Black Chancery font. The image worked up in Publisher, Word is also great for making these "stamps".

Everything trimmed and merged, the Stamp:

What I used to  give it some color

I appreciate your stopping by my blog, and I hope you can use the stamp for your journaling.                 It can be easily resized to fit your Bible.
Have a Great Day!
